We hope you can join us at the home of Barbara Commins for a wonderful evening of healthcare updates and organizing.

Dr. Quentin Young will update us on the national campaign for single payer healthcare.  Dr. Young is a national treasure.  He is a founding member and current national coordinator for Physicians for a National Health Program.  During the 1970s and early 1980s, he served as chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at Cook County in Chicago. In 1998, he served as president of the American Public Health Association.  He was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s personal physician during the latter’s stays in Chicago.

Don Bechler, chair of Single Payer Now, will update us on California’s campaign for SB 810.  SB 810 will be voted up or down on Tuesday, January 31.

We will also ask attendees to take SB 810 postcards home, and we will ask for financial contributions.

Please let us know if you can attend.  And we also need phone tree volunteers to alert activists who do not have email.
