Senate Bill 840, the California Universal Healthcare Act passed in both the California Assembly and Senate in 2008. 49 of the 120 legislators in Sacramento co-authored SB 840. Governor Schwarzenegger then vetoed SB 840 denying Californians a chance to spend our resources wisely for comprehensive healthcare. In 2009, State Senator Mark Leno will be the new principle author of SB 840 leading a supporting cast of millions of Californians.
